Darren Pays Tribute to Sports Journalist

He was a very good man who knew the game inside out and knew what he was writing about
Northern Irish sports journalist, Jack Magowan, sadly passed away yesterday after a short illness aged 79. Jack was a much - admired writer and covered golf, amongst other sports for many years. He was held in such high esteem in Ireland that he held honorary membership at many Northern Ireland Clubs. He covered more than 30 Open championships, Ryder Cups, United States and European tournaments.
Darren, who was at the launch of the Magners North Of Ireland Amateur Championship at Royal Portrush paid tribute to Jack, "I was deeply saddened to hear of Jack's passing," he said. "He was a very good man who knew the game inside out and knew what he was writing about".
"Everyone connected to the game here will be sad to hear this news."
