England's Matt Wallace notched up his second European Tour win of 2018 when he claimed victory in the BMW International Open at Gut Laerchenhof.

Matt fired rounds of 73 69 71 and finally a flawless 65 to leave him on ten under par and take the title by one shot from Martin Kaymer, Mikko Korhonen, and Thorbjorn Olesen who shot an eleven under par 61 in the closing round.

Wallace started the day on three under par, just two shots behind a group of six players on five under. He covered the outward nine in two under but then made five birdies for a back nine of 31, seven under par for the round.

'Brilliant to win here in Germany", said Matt. "The BMW is such a great event and to play against the likes of Martin Kaymer and the guys at the top there, it's great".

"I work hard for this. I believe I can do it. I want to go further, I want to keep building on this. Obviously this gives me a lot of confidence to go on and play well and I want to kick on and hopefully do this in bigger events from now on".

"This is great, this is a step in the right direction. We'll keep working hard to bigger and better things".

Matt moves to 11th in the Race to Dubai.

England's Matt Nixon finished 18th, Gregory Bourdy tied 33rd and Matthias Schwab tied 40th.

On the Challenge Tour it was a great week for Ireland's Gavin Moynihan who finished tied 6th in the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge. Ben Eccles tied for 11th, Billy Spooner tied 14th and Tom Murray 62nd.
